As you may know, I recently started the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Good Bull Blog – dedicated to capturing the true essence and greatness of Texas A&M University. So, I am trying an experiment. I really want to capture stories about the greatness of Texas A&M University, so I am starting a contest.

Got a story for you Aggies! (Whoop!)

How many times have you heard that in your lifetime as an Aggie? There are so many great Aggie stories out there, and I personally think it is time that we Aggies write some of those great stories down. Texas A&M University is all about tradition and doing the right thing. “Good Bull” is defined in the Corps dictionary as “Anything that conforms to the traditions of Texas A&M.” It follows then that the Texas Aggie Good Bull Story Contest is a competition to tell your best Fightin’Texas Aggie Story to the world.

It’s really simple. Log into the Fightin’Texas Aggie Good Bull Blog Forums and post your story in the Story Contest area as a new thread. There are two categories for stories – “Good Deeds” and “Great Fun.” Pick the area that is appropriate for your story and post it there. Then, get your friends to log onto the thread and cast their vote for your story by adding a reply to your post. Only one post per user per story (you cannot vote for the same story twice). After the first round, I will post the top stories to the blog for the finals. Simple as that.

What do I win?

• The admiration of your Aggie brothers everywhere.
• Fame and fortune on the GoodBullBlog.
• That’s about it.

What are the rules?

1. This is a new idea, so the rules are subject to change at any time without notice (but I will try not to do that).
2. The GoodBullBlog staff (er, that would be me) is the final decision maker regarding all rules.
3. The contest opens immediately and will be open until we close it. We will give a ten day notice before we stop accepting entries.
4. You must post your story in the forum to enter.
5. The GoodBullBlog staff counts the votes and determines the finalists and (later) the winner.
6. We reserve the right to cancel the contest at any time without notice and for any reason.
7. Stories should substantially contain truth. Complete fabrications (to the extent that they are discovered) will be disqualified.
8. Photos are allowed. Photos must be family friendly.
9. There is no word limit – but 200 - 1000 words is the recommended length.
10. By posting a story in the contest, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions in the Legal Notice. Specifically, we are not liable for what you write, we reserve the right to moderate the posts, and we can publish (and republish) your story as we see fit.
